A few years ago, a French employee of BCD was taking her daughter to dance class when she saw a child of around nine years
old with cancer getting out of a car. “He was going home and had a huge smile on his face.” The image made a huge impression on
her. “It’s very difficult to imagine the sacrifices, courage and daily energy needed to keep going in such situations and keep fighting
this disease.”
She was inspired to work with her colleagues in France to raise even more money for the Rêves Association: an organization
that helps children forget about their illness for a while, however severe, by granting wishes. For example, Basile had an unforgettable time thanks to the fundraising efforts of BCD
staff and the additional support of the Foundation. Basile is a young football fan who got the opportunity to attend several Lille matches and even meet players from his favorite team.
Since 2013, the year the Foundation and BCD started to support the Rêves Association, many more children’s dreams have come true. Elliot had a wonderful time at Disneyland Paris with his
family. Julian even traveled all the way to the United States to meet his basketball hero Rudy Gobert at an NBA game. Money was raised for Nils to fund a week’s holiday for him and his
family in the Alps. And Victor and Heloise also saw their wishes fulfillled in the form of diving lessons and a family trip to Puy du
Fou theme park respectively. All thanks to donations from the Foundation and fund-raising activities by BCD employees. These included flea markets and
